HAFED has set up its exhibition stall for the first time at GULFOOD 2023, the largest food and beverage trade show in the world, which is currently taking place in Dubai from 20th to 24th February’ 23.
HAFED Export Order
Mr. A. Sreenivas, the managing director of HAFED, announced on 22nd February 2023 that a Saudi Arabian importer has placed an order for 85,000 metric tons (MT) of Basmati Rice worth Rs 850 crore for its import.
An order for 33,000 MT of this, he claimed, has already been carried out, and the remaining orders were still being carried out.
“Encouraged with successful export to Saudi Arabia, HAFED has planned to expand its export business in other countries also.” said Sh. Sreenivas.
At the same time, he continued, HAFED has given farmers the highest prices for the purchase of basmati paddy in mandis this year, benefiting the farmers. “HAFED is also making commercial purchases of basmati paddy and has procured 2.75 lakh MT basmati paddy from farmers during the current financial year,” the managing director mentioned.

According to an official statement, the company’s Chairman Kailash Bhagat and Managing Director Sreenivas, along with officers, visited the exhibition and met with a number of potential buyers of basmati rice for export tie-ups. Sreenivas claimed that the main importer, M/s Saleh A Babekar Sons Company of Riyadh, provided HAFED with export orders.
