Four-Lane Project Between Jhansi & Khajuraho, Lay Foundation For 9 Projects

Nitin Gadkari, India’s Union Road Transport & Highways Minister, and Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, in another big infrastructure push in Bundelkhand, inaugurated and laid down the foundation for 9 projects worth Rs 3,500 crore for the region in the states Mahoba district on 13th March 2023. These new projects other than the Bundelkhand Expressway are bound to accelerate and bring growth and development in the once-known most backward region of the state.

Projects

A four-lane road project worth Rs 1,400 crore (NH 75-76) between Jhansi and Khajuraho has been dedicated by Gadkari and Yogi. The Jhansi, Orchha, Khajuraho, and Panna tiger reserves will have better connectivity thanks to this road network. This network will also provide direct connectivity to Delhi via NH-44. Between Jhansi and Urai, they also opened wayside facilities worth Rs 11 crore.

They also laid the foundation of the first phase of the Rs 1,681-crore project for the construction of the 46-km-long Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh to Sagar in Madhya Pradesh, a four-lane national highway

The first section of the NH will run between Kanpur and Kabrai and will connect to the Lucknow Green and Bundelkhand Eways. When this road project is finished, Bundelkhand will have direct access to metro cities, and the distance between Mahoba and Bhopal will be reduced from the current 10 hours via Jhansi to just 5 hours.

On 13th March, the two leaders also laid the foundation for three additional projects: the Rs 63.75 crore Kidari railway crossing, the Rs 78.5 crore Supa railway crossing, and the Rs 50.77 crore Matong crossing over bridge. In Jhansi and Lalitpur, they also laid the groundwork for a number of multi-crore road projects. Gadkari and Yogi earlier in the day inaugurated and laid the foundation for 18 NH projects worth Rs 10,000 Cr in Gorakhpur before traveling to Mahoba.

As Per CM Yogi Adityanath

In Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh CM Adityanath mentioned, “Under the guidance of the President and Prime Minister, the state had recently received investment proposals of Rs 35 lakh crore during the UP Global Business Summit. The huge investment proposals came because people started realizing that the state’s security situation has improved of late and also the state infrastructure has become better. Due to these heavy investments, we will be able to give employment to one crore youth of the state in the coming three years. Now, the youth of Uttar Pradesh do not have to migrate to other regions for jobs.”

Gadkari was also praised by CM Yogi for improving the road infrastructure across the country. “Under the guidance of Gadkariji, new road connectivity has come up and the highway network has improved manifolds which have taken India to new heights. The world is stunned about how come to India, despite being in the grip of the Covid pandemic, is growing so fast now. Big infrastructure boost is one of the reasons behind India’s exponential growth.”

Nitin Gadkari, India’s Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Added

While announcing the projects, Gadkari said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we are committed to building new roads of progress in Uttar Pradesh with the development of national highways.” These road projects, according to him, will increase connectivity between UP and MP. The minister also announced the four-lane Ram Van Gaman Marg project, which aims to retrace the path that Lord Ram is thought to have taken on his journey into exile with Sita and Lakshman. Gadkari also asked CM Yogi to let him know where people face more traffic jams, “there I will build fly overbridges”.
