The Union Minister for Road and Transport, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, is scheduled to launch a number of road projects totaling INR 13,299 crore in Jharkhand on March 23. According to information provided by the regional office of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the projects will cover a total of 752 km.
The Projects
One project will be officially launched in Jamshedpur, and nine more will have their foundation stones laid. The Jamshedpur-Mahulia Section of NH-33 under the National Highways Development Programme (Phase-III)’s balance work has been completed, and it will be dedicated to the people from Jamshedpur, by the minister, on the same day.
The projects, according to S K Mishra, CGM (T)-cum-regional officer for NHAI, cover the commissioner divisions of South Chotanagpur, Kolhan, and Palamu. He further mentioned, “The balance work of four/six lane roads of Jamshedpur- Mahulia Section of NH-33 under national highways development program (phase–III) is over. The minister will dedicate it to the public on that day from Jamshedpur.”
Foundation Stones To Be Laid
A four-lane, double-decker elevated road from Kalimandir-Dimna road to Baliguma, a ROB (Road over bridge) on NH75E between Jhikpani and Talaburu railway station, and the reconstruction of Bhuiya Sinan to Susni via Hata road in East Singhbhum are among the projects in Jamshedpur that will have their foundation stones laid.
The length of this double-decker corridor will be about 10.2 kilometers. Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato said, “Once the flyover is complete, it would be a smooth drive for those using this part of NH-33.” An estimated 1,500 crore rupees will be spent on the project.
Minister Gadkari will present three projects to the public at a program in Ranchi. It includes building a vehicle underpass at Patel Chowk on NH33 in the Ramgarh district, bolstering a section of NH100 in the Chatra district, and widening and fortifying two lanes on NH-99 in the Chatra district. Apart from there, foundation stones will be laid down for 18 projects which include the four-laning of Gola to Bokaro Jaina More (NH320), the ROB between Daltonganj and Rajhura in Palamu district, and the widening of the two lanes of Chainpur-Mahuadam in the Gumla district among others.
